     Elections

     You can register to vote at the Secretary of States office or at the township clerk’s office. Absentee ballots are available for all registered voters for any elections

     held in the township by contacting the township clerk or from the State website.

     Upcoming Elections

     The Township Hall is the polling location: 885 River Road, Hastings, MI 49058 (Between M-37 & Star School Road) for actual election day voting

     The following elections are scheduled for the 2025 year:

     POLLS ARE OPEN FROM 7:00 A.M. TO 8:00 P.M. on election day. To view Sample Ballot   mvic.sos.state.mi.us/publicballot

   

     EARLY VOTING - 9 DAYS BEFORE THE FEDERAL AND STATE ELECTIONS ONLY (beginning the second Saturday before the election and ending the

     Sunday before the election)  Voting time is from 9 am to 5 pm daily for the early voting days.

     The early voting site for Hastings Township is Rutland Township Hall  2461 Heath Road, Hastings, MI

     The ballot canvass for the early voting will take place at Rutland Township Hall at beginning at 7:45 pm on the Tuesday of actual election.

     You must be registered as a voter to use an early voting site, registering to vote is NOT allowed at the Early Voting site

   

 

     Clerk Duties

The Clerk's Office is involved in a range of administrative functions and services. Some of these are statutory - assigned to the Clerk by State law. Others are set forth in Township Board procedures or local ordinances.

     The major mandated duties include:

     Financial Administration: General Ledger, Payroll, A/P, Budgeting

     Financial Reports & Federal and State Filings

     Custody of Records, Minutes, and Ordinances

     Development of Township Board Agendas

     Voter Registration Administration

     Elections Administration
